We were founded in 1968 by City of Aurora employees including the Fire Department. Our first branch was in basement closet of Aurora Fire Station No. 1.

First Responder Loans
First Responders in our community work tirelessly to serve the residents of Aurora, and we offer a loan specific to their needs. Aurora’s Firefighters, Police Officers, and Paramedics/EMTs can apply for a first responder loan up $15,000 to help with work-related gear and equipment, paramedic school, service weapons, or other related expenses. This loan will provide a low cost financing option. Applicants must have an AFCU debit card and be a recruit or employee in a first responder field of employment.
