When are statements distributed?

Statements are mailed during the first week of each month. Members with only a savings account will receive a quarterly statement, while those with both an Advantage Checking and Regular Savings will receive a monthly statement.

Your current rate can be found on your statement or on the documents provided when you opened your account/loan. If you need additional help, please contact a Member Service Specialist.

What is the difference between dividend rate and APY?

The dividend rate of a certificate is the rate being earned on a daily basis. The APY, or Annual Percentage Yield, is the annualized rate earned after one year due to dividends being posted throughout the year.

Where can I find Online Bill Pay?

Our FREE Online Bill Pay is located in Virtual Branch. If you need help enrolling in Virtual Branch, review our enrollment guide located under Credit Union Resources on the Education & Resources page (tab on top of website). Online Bill Pay is FREE and allows you to make recurring or one-time payments.

How do I login to Virtual Branch?

From the AFCU home page, simply click on the blue “Login” bar in the upper left of the page. This will take you to Virtual Branch where you can login using your user id and password. If you are just getting started you can review our enrollment guide located under Credit Union Resources on the Education & Resources page (tab on top of website).

I’m not a member yet, how do I join?

There are a couple ways you can join; you can come in our main office during business hours or apply online by selecting the “Apply Now” tab at the top of the website and then selecting “Membership Application.” Please note that regardless of how you apply, we will need a copy of the driver’s license and social security card for the primary and joint members. You’ll also need to provide your starting deposit.

What is a credit union?

A credit union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative. Each credit union is owned by its members, who all have an equal vote, regardless of their deposit amount. Instead of turning over profits to shareholders, profits are returned to the membership in the form of higher dividends on savings and lower rates on loans. People have to meet eligibility requirements to join a credit union, such as employment with a membership group or area of residency. For AFCU’s eligibility requirements, visit the “About Us” tab.

Can I receive alerts when my account falls beneath a certain balance or when I receive a deposit?

Yes! Virtual Branch offers you the choice to add alerts to your accounts. There are numerous alerts available including when deposits or payments are made. You can even set up an alert to notify you when your AFCU Visa Platinum Credit Card is used for a purchase. Account Alerts are located in the Self Service area of Virtual Branch.

Does Aurora FCU offer notary services? If so, what is the cost and do I need to set up an appointment?

Aurora FCU offers free notary services to our members during regular business hours. You do not need to set up an appointment to use this service, and there is no fee.

Is the loan rate for a new vehicle the same as a pre-owned vehicle?

Yes. Car loan rates at Aurora FCU are determined by credit rating, length of term and LTV. Visit Rates and Fees for our most current rates.

Does Aurora Federal Credit Union offer e-Statements?

Yes, we offer e-Statements to reduce paper waste and save time because you don’t have to wait for monthly paper statements. Sign up to receive e-Statements through Online Banking.

Does the credit union offer mortgages and other home-related loans – including refinances?

Yes! AFCU offers Conventional and FHA first mortgages at either fixed or adjustable rates. We also offer second mortgages at a fixed or variable rate and home equity lines of credit (HELOC). If you have projects but no equity in your home, we offer home improvement loans at a competitive rate and variety of terms.

Can the credit union help me with my retirement savings?

Definitely. AFCU offers ROTH and Traditional IRAs that you can open or rollover into. There are also IRA Certificates as well as regular Term Share Certificates, Money Market Accounts, Regular, and Club Savings.

What is a Club Account?

A Club Account is a savings account that allows you to save for a specific event – we offer Vacation, Education, and Christmas Clubs. A minimum deposit of $0.01 is required and funds can only be withdrawn two months during the year without penalty. (This is designed to help you stay disciplined in your saving). The Club Accounts earn slightly higher dividends than the Regular Savings Account as in incentive. We can help you set up payroll deductions to add money to your Club Account on a regular basis.

Does the credit union offer commercial loans for my small business?

Yes, we offer fixed term and lines of credit for small business needs. Contact a Loan Officer to learn more or apply online.

Does the credit union offer student loans?

Yes! Click here to learn more about our student loan option and to apply. In a nutshell – students make either interest-only or $25 month payments while in school; this reduces the repayment term and saves money over traditional student loans, there’s no pre-payment penalty, co-signer release available upon education completion.

How can I set up Direct Deposit?

Typically your employer will have a form they prefer you use. You will need to include your account number and the credit union Routing Number 307074454. For your convenience, a member service representative can create and print a form for you to use that has most of the information pre-filled for you.

What is the Popmoney service?

Popmoney allows members to send money to individuals using either their cell phone number or email address. It is offered in the Online Bill Pay section of Virtual Branch. Members can send money for only $0.50 per transaction; there’s no fee for receiving. Funds are sent the same or next business day. It is a great, safe way to send money to friends, family, coaches, or anyone!

Does the credit union have free Checking?

Absolutely! AFCU’s Advantage Checking is FREE with unlimited check writing, no minimum balance requirements, and you can get a FREE Visa Debit Card that earns rewards. Your Visa Debit Card can be used at thousands of no-fee CO-OP ATMs. With Advantage Checking you can also use our FREE Virtual Branch Online Banking and Bill Pay.

Where can I find a surcharge-free ATM that will accept my Aurora FCU card?

Aurora FCU debit cards may be used at over 25,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide, including many 7-Eleven locations. Search by zip code for the nearest free CO-OP Network ATMs.

How can I get account information without visiting a branch?

You can access your account 24 hours a day with Online Banking or Telephone Teller at (303) 755-0050 or (800) 717-7149. You can check balances, transfer funds, and listen to recent transactions, plus more.

How can I find a surcharge-free ATM when I am not at my computer or in a branch?

Simply send a text message with your zip code or street address to MYCOOP (692667), and receive a reply in seconds with the closest free ATM.

What are CU Service Centers?

CU Service Centers are credit unions that have all agreed to help each others’ members in their location. This allows you to conduct basic transactions such as deposits and withdrawals at a participating center – offering over 180 locations in Colorado alone; 4,200 nationwide. So if you are traveling and not near AFCU, you can go into a CU Service Center and access your accounts.

How do I notify the Credit Union I am travelling?

Send us a message in Virtual Branch with your travel dates and destinations or contact a Member Service Representative at 303-755-2572 so that we may ensure your credit and debit cards work properly.

How long does it take for my debit card to arrive?

It typically takes between 7 and 14 business days to arrive.

What if I don't know my PIN for my VISA Credit/Debit Card?

Contact us at 303-755-2572 and we can have a new PIN sent to you.

Does Aurora FCU offer a credit card?

Yes, we offer a VISA Platinum Credit Card with low, fixed interest rates. Visit Credit and Debit Cards for more details about our Platinum Credit Card.

Is my credit card protected against fraud?

AFCU Visa Platinum Credit Card does provide account monitoring to alert you in the event of potential fraud. If suspicious activity is detected, you will be contacted to verify or alert you to the activity. IT IS VITAL AFCU HAS CURRENT CONTACT NUMBERS FOR YOU. Please be sure to inform the credit union of any changes to your contact information or if you will be traveling out of the country and plan on using your card.
