Supervisory Committee

Aurora Federal Credit Union’s Supervisory Committee is seeking candidates for a current vacancy and is accepting resumes.

The Supervisory Committee is separate from the credit union’s board of directors. The federal agency that regulates our credit union is the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The NCUA requires federal credit unions to have a Supervisory Committee to verify that the credit union’s board of directors and management:

    • Meets required NCUA financial reporting and regulatory operational requirements.
    • Establish business operating practices and procedures sufficient to safeguard members’ financial deposits.

In fulfilling these responsibilities, the Supervisory Committee:

The Committee operates as follows:

  • Meets on a quarterly basis. Meetings are held at the credit union offices during the lunch hour for 1½ to 2 hours per meeting. Meeting packets are sent out approximately one week prior to the meeting and committee members are expected to have read the packet.
  • Committee members serve on a volunteer basis, without compensation.
  • If appointed to the committee, there is on-line training required to provide an understanding of the role and duties of a committee member. The training is a 3–4-hour commitment.
  • Committee members are encouraged to take continuing education and attend conferences related to Supervisory Committee responsibilities.

Desired Qualifications of Candidates for this position:

  • Given that the responsibilities of the Committee are focused on complex financial management and business operations of the credit union, candidates interested in applying should consider how their educational and professional experiences would contribute to the committee’s responsibilities.
  • Supervisory Committee members must be members of the credit union or agree to become members if they are selected to fill this vacancy.
  • If you are interested in applying, please submit a one-page resume to executive@auroracu.com by January 31, 2026. Please limit your resume to one page and cover letters are not required.
